A very interesting article. The quote "on average, each French resident sent fifteen postcards during 1906" confused me a little. Is this highlighting the fact that the French customarily sent many postcards at that time, or is it contrasting the number of postcards sent in 1906 with the number in other years, to highlight the popularity of *these* postcards?
