Counter-electromotive force (back emf) occurs not only in motors but in all components that are inductive - all inductors and even wiring which has inductance (although in the latter the effect is usually very small).
The article as it stands is too restrictive (and consequently misleading) in its treatment and needs to refer to solenoids and other inductors as well.194.75.159.78 (talk) 12:35, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
