Talk:Count Olaf's associates
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Both the bald man and the wart-faced person are mentioned in the first book, so they are either used intercangably or two different people - maybe wart-face quit in between books 1 & 2... --Wack'd About Wiki 13:39, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
The wart-faced man and the bald man are the same. "The wart-faced man" was probably an accident.
- It seems more like he was retconned out of the series, since TBB's pretty emphatic about them being separate people.
[edit] Hugo
It has been suggested that Hugo (A Series of Unfortnate Events) be merged into the relevant section of this page. I pointed out the duplication, and think this would be the most sensible approach, so therefore agree. - N (talk) 20:18, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
- Also agree - better to keep them together. --Celestianpower hablamé 13:03, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
- Agreed and I added a comment saying how his name was probably derived from Victor Hugo --insertwackynamehere 01:21, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
-
- I have just noticed that we also have another article, Hugo the Hunchback, which has the same information. I have redirected to that article for now, and added a link from this page. If you guys want me to merge the Hugo the Hunchback article here, let me know and I'll do that. - N (talk) 18:17, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
- I disagree; I think that each member of Count Olaf's theatre troupe deserves his or her (or its) own article. They are all in numerous books, some of them in every one, and are just as main of characters as, say, Justice Strauss, Bruce, the Snow Scouts, Kit Snicket, etc. However, I don't think that this should be incentive for someone to go out and make ten or so new stubs. These articles should be well done and informative, as should all Wikipedia articles.
On the subject of Hugo, I must ask, why do Hugo and Colette have their own articles but not Kevin? They're all of equal importance. Perhaps they could have a single article under "The Freaks" or something like that. And I question putting Hugo as a secondary character and Colette as a minor character, for the same reasons.
[edit] Hook Handed Man under retired?
Is this an an error or is it because there is reference to him escaping with his sister in the 12th book?----CyberGhostface 04:54, 4 March 2006 (UT
[edit] Images
I think we should add images of the theatre troupe from the movie.
I agree, I think they would look better. Thief Lord 00:31, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
no way the drawings are pretty cool
How about both? So the movie is thumbnailed to the left and the book image is in the infobox? Mrmoocow 06:28, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unauthorized Autobiography
Should someone put up the people said to be associates of Count Olaf in Lemony Snicket:The Unauthorized Autobiography?I mean, just because they are mostly characters that have only appeared in that book, that doesn't mean that they should not be listed.--69.155.8.154 18:48, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- I think there should perhaps be sections, if only a sentence long, for the associates of Olaf mentioned in the autobiography - Ivan Lachrymose, "a man's life," the Esmé Squalor Fan Club, etc.
[edit] All Retired?
Since Count Olaf broke ties with Esmé and Carmelita, Fernald and Fiona double-crossed him and vanished with his submarine, and he abandoned the freaks, then do any of the associates deserve a place in "current"? Perhaps having a section for "original members" and another for "later additions" would be more accurate. (On that note, just having a header followed by a link to a main page for a character looks rather scrappy, so maybe a short description could be carried over here.)
[edit] Descriptions
Do the individual members need descriptions? I think it would work better as a list page. --Pacaman! 00:54, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
