Taking advantage of re-marks Someone commented on CCEA 'Cashing in' on remarks and using very strict examiners. It is generally accepted their standards are strict, but in line with QCA procedures. Border-line candidates are remarked as a matter of course. Because of the nature of one candidate's marking being allocated among several examiners (via several papers), any mistake in marking is often in one paper and is balanced out by other papers - hence there is a low probabability of a remark changing the grade unless several examiners were all at fault.
