Courtesy signer

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Courtesy Signer, also known as a Mobile Notary Signing Agent (NSA), is a commissioned notary public who specializes in obtaining and notarizing the signatures needed to close real estate, refinance, and loan transactions. This type of service accommodates escrow, title, and mortgage companies. Courtesy signers are often contracted for one of two reasons to either help manage the overflow caused by month end closings or to fulfill the clients' need for convenience by meeting them in the place of their choosing. This is usually done when there is a scheduling conflict that prohibits the closing from taking place inside an escrow, title company. A courtesy signer conducts business both inside and outside of traditional mortgage, escrow, and title company offices.
