Courtenay Dempsey (born August 28, 1987) is an Australian rules footballer for the Essendon Football Club of the Australian Football League.
Dempsey began playing football in Cairns, Australia, where he played with the Manunda Hawks in AFL Cairns. He moved to Brisbane to play with the Kenmore Bears Football Club and the Morningside Australian Football Club where he was drafted at pick 19 by Essendon in the 2005 AFL draft. He also played AFL for his school Brisbane Boys' College.
Of Aboriginal descent, he is highly rated for his speed and the amazing skill level that many fellow Aboriginal players have made their trademark.
