Court of Audit (Belgium)

The Court of Audit (Dutch: Rekenhof, French: Cour des comptes, of Belgium is an institution of the Belgian Federal Parliament established by Article 180 of the Belgian Constitution. It independently audits the accounts of the Federal State, the Communities, the Regions and the provinces, and the collection and spending of public funds. It also monitors the sound use of public funds and reports to the legislative assemblies and the provincial councils on the results of its audits. The Court of Audit consists of two chambers: a Dutch-speaking chamber and a French-speaking chamber. Each of these chambers consists of a President, 4 Justices and a Registrar. The senior of the two Presidents and the senior of the two Registrars are designated, respectively, First President and Chief Registrar. The current composition of the Court of Audit is as follows:
