Couronnes is a station of the Paris Métro, serving Line 2.
The origin of the name is not certain; it stems either from a location named Les Couronnes-sous-Savies, or from a tavern named Les Trois Couronnes.
This station was the site of a fire and stampede that caused the worst catastrophe in the history of the Paris Métro, killing 84 people on August 10, 1903.
