Courçon is a commune in the canton of Courçon of the Charente-Maritime department in the Poitou-Charentes region in western France.

Its name origin comes from a small stream named the son"/"çon" of the phrase, the village of "cour le son" which is different from "courçon". The "son"/"çon" has a source of the inaccessability with the fountain. The son/çon constituces for the village's water and a rainy weather.
