[edit] Plot

François Perrin is a belligerent factory worker who plays football for a local amateur team. His attitude doesn't endear him to anyone, and the situation is not helped when a woman claims to have been raped by the team's star, Bertier. While at a training session, Perrin gets into a fight with Bertier. As a result of the scuffle, and in an attempt to protect the team's star, the club's boss, a powerful businessman, tries to take advantage of the situation and orders Perrin is off the field. Perrin is also sacked from his job and thrown into jail. Soon afterward, while the team is en route to a match, the bus has an accident, and several of the players are injured. As there is a shortage of able-bodied players, the desperate team arranges for Perrin to be temporarily released. Perrin uses his release to gain revenge on those who have wronged him.
