Counterparts and Number Them
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Counterparts and Number Them" is the second single off Alexisonfire's debut album, Alexisonfire (2002).
The song starts off with a fast guitar riff that leads into the verse. George Pettit screams most of the vocals as one syllable, while guitarist Dallas Green sings a melodic line over it. The verse then leads into a palm-muted guitar riff as George says "sweater...". A quiet interlude follows and the song soon ends on the first riff.
[edit] Video Information
The music video for the song features the band playing in pink polos at a park with a bunch of children. Close-ups are shown of the band, the children, and George eating a sandwich. The band runs around with the children and lets them jump off of the drum set. They also ride on a tram, skip rope, fly a kite, and play ball. Scenes of George smashing a pogo stick, after a failing attempt to use one, then a girl holding the pogo stick and crying are also parts of the video. The video was directed by Marc Ricciardelli.
