Count Ricardo is an Australian thoroughbred racehorse who is best known as a steal from the racehorse sale. He was a chestnut colt by Principality from Shanghai Surprise, by the staying influence Imperial Prince. His trainer and co-owner Stephen Theodore purchased him for just AUD$880 (including GST). He ran third in the Group One Victoria Derby and won the Group Two Sandown Classic in 2004.
As of October 1, 2005, he earned the prizemoney of AUD$540,310, 600 times his original sale price.
Owing to minor injury setbacks, the best was never seen of Count Ricardo, who soon disappeared from the racing scene.
