Count Franz von Limburg Stirum
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Count Franz von Limburg Stirum (born 1943) is a Finnish farmer with royal and noble roots. Genealogically he represents medieval kings of Scandinavia, being regarded as heir-general.
Franz von Limburg Stirum was educated in Sweden, where he obtained the degree of Agricultural Technologist, at the Lantbruksuniversitet. Then he has been farming, together with his wife countess Mariana, the family's Koski manor in Western Nylandia, Finland.
"Genealogists believe that there are no heirs of more senior lines left, and that accordingly, his uncontested medieval descent means that count Franz von Limburg Stirum is the Heir-General of the deposed king Valdemar I of Sweden and his wife Sofia of Denmark. This, consequently, means that he is the heir-general of the royal St.Eric dynasty of Sweden, and of Sofia's father the murdered king Eric IV of Denmark, and as such also heir of the Viking earls of Lade in Norway, of earls of Möre in the Viking Norway, of the line of king Eric I of Denmark, of Rikissa of Poland who was Dowager Queen of Gothenland and Sweden, of dux Birger jarl the regent who conquered southwestern Finland up to Tavastia, of Ragnhild Magnusdottir of Norway whose issue is the only known yet surviving undisputed descent from the Hardraada kings of Norway, of Regent Harald Kesja of Denmark, and of Katarina Ingesdotter of Sweden who was the youngest daughter of king Inge I of Sweden. Therefore some have regarded count Franz as the rightful heir of the kingdoms of Denmark and Sweden."[citation needed]
