The Council of Ontario Universities was established in 1962, originally being known as the Committee of Presidents of the Universities of Ontario. The name was changed in 1971 to the current name.[1] The Ontario Universities' Application Centre is one of their organs. The council raises awareness of enrollment, and funding to Ontario universities.[2]

The Common University Data Ontario is an online tool for students, parents and the public with data on Ontario’s 18 universities, the Ontario College of Art & Design and the Royal Military College of Canada.

The Council of Ontario Universities is made up of the following 18 universities and two associate members.
