Coulterville is part of South Versailles Township, Pennsylvania . Originally, the area known as South Versailles Twp. today was made up of three villages: Coulterville, Alpsville and Emblem. Today, South Versailles is often referred to by locals as Coulterville, or, more often, Coulter, for short. Coulterville is in the far southern part of the town, with Alpsville in the middle, and Emblem being on the northern border with White Oak, Pennsylvania.
