María José de Pablo (born November 12, 1979), better known as Cote de Pablo, is a stage and television actress. De Pablo was born in Santiago, Chile, but moved to Miami, Florida, at the age of 10[1] where she attended Arvida Middle School and then the New World School of the Arts.

In 1994, she co-hosted the show called Control, under her birth name María José de Pablo, along with former Entertainment Tonight host Carlos Ponce. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2000 with a degree in musical theater.

De Pablo played Latina roles in short-lived series such as The Education of Max Bickford and The Jury before joining NCIS in its third season (2005-2006) as Ziva David, an Israeli Mossad operative. De Pablo describes her NCIS character as someone who is "completely different from anyone else on the show" and that because "she's been around men all her life; she's used to men in authority. She's not afraid of men."[2]
