[edit] Use of English on Wikiepdia

In Wikipedia, the English used is the English most closely associated with the topic of the article. Therefore, altering American Football and Canadian Football to use language from Australia is not acceptable and considered vandalism. Please keep this in mind when editing articles associated with other countries. -- kainaw 15:21, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] January 2008

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to EA Canada. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Please respect National varieties of English. DoubleBlue (Talk) 17:36, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

I apologise for this particular EA Canada charge of vandalism. I thought the article was discussing the Canadian version rather than the general series, and thus called "Soccer" rather than "Football". It's clear that the better link to use here is FIFA (series). Your other changes, however, to Soccer in the United States‎, American football‎, and Canadian football‎ were inappropriate. [edit] Your edit to American and British English spelling differences

Hi. I reverted your edit there because "draught" is not used in the sense of "preliminary document" in either US or UK. I now see that you have used Australian English in some edits, so please accept apologies for my narrow outlook if I overlooked that usage. --Old Moonraker (talk) 07:59, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
