Talk:Costumed character

[edit] Not restricted to just disney

perhaps this needs to be merged into a more generic "mascot characters" article? Thoughts? SpikeJones (talk) 23:29, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

I don't know if the article needs to be merged or renamed... perhaps just broadened to include other parks' characters (e.g. Six Flags & WB/DC, Cedar Point & Peanuts)? It isn't really the same thing as mascots, which don't necessarily have anything to do with people putting on costumes as characters for people to meet (though sometimes they do, as the photos in that article demonstrate). - JasonAQuest (talk) 02:02, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Frankly, it's really not encyclopedic in the first place; not as a stand-alone article that is. What it would turn into (which isn't good) would be a list of "characters that are meetable", such as the "Single Rider Lines" article turned into. Bleh. Any thought about deleting it? I think it has some potential, addressing the history of these attractions (e.g. who invented them?), where they're used (theme parks, sporting events, etc.), their impact on attendance, etc. A merger with the costumed character stub would certainly be in order. - JasonAQuest (talk) 02:22, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Ah, yes. Good idea. I'll add the merge tag. SpikeJones (talk) 02:46, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Done. --Damian Yerrick (talk | stalk) 01:30, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
