Costea of Moldavia

Costea Muşat or Muşatin was Voivode of Moldavia between 1373 and 1374. The first ruler of Moldavia from the Muşat family, he is believed by some to have been born in Wallachia, being probably related to Basarab I's ruling family. He was married to Margareta (Muşata), a Roman Catholic, the daughter of Bogdan I. They had three children: Petru, Roman and Ştefan, all of them ruling in succession after Costea's death.

In a document from 1392 it is said that his wife, Muşata, built in the city of Siret, the church Saint John the Baptist, where she was interred.
