Costanzo Ciano (August 30, 1876 - June 26, 1939) was an Italian naval commander and politician. He was the father of Galeazzo Ciano.
Born at Livorno, he entered the Naval Academy of Livorno in 1891, being appointed official in five years later. In 1901 he became tenente di vascello (lieutnant) and took part in the Italo-Turkish War of 1911-1912.
In 1915, at the entrance of Italy in World War I, he was capitano di corvetta (Lieutenant Commander), and was assigned to service in Cirenaica. After his return to Italy he operated at the command of fast MAS units, receiving a Gold Medal for Military Value for a famous action in the Bakar Harbour, in Histria, which was later celebrated by the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio (who was in fact present also). Ciano was named senior commander at the end of the war.
He was president of the Italian Chamber of Deputies between 1934 and 1939.
Ciano died in Ponte a Moriano in 1939.
