Hi! This page is so full of nonsense (e.g. "Cultured batsman" as a bowling style), redlinks, and unencyclopedic language that I was tempted to flag it for speedy deletion, but I'd like to give you a chance. If you really intend to make a proper article of it, well and good - please do so. If not, then please flag it with {{db-author}} so an admin can remove it. It falls so far short of Wikipedia's standards that it cannot remain as it is. Philip Trueman 17:04, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Ref your reply on my talk page. It may be better than it was, but it still has redlinks, there are spelling errors, oh! forget it!. It's been prodded (by someone else), and that gives you five days to clean it up or see it go. Philip Trueman 18:53, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- If the pages don't exist yet you shouldn't try to link to them. If you think the spelling doesn't need correcting you need a better dictionary. And if you think I'm going to bother with you further, you're wrong about that too. Philip Trueman 19:08, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
The article Declan Hannick has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 17:13, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notability of Gaybrial Lavelle
A tag has been placed on Gaybrial Lavelle, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
[edit] Warning
Please do not create hoaxes. Please do not attempt to put misinformation into Wikipedia to test our ability to detect and remove it. This has been done before, with varying results. Most hoaxes are marked for deletion within a few hours after they are created. Some Wikipedians suspect that the majority of hoaxes here are attempts to test the system. Kindly — do not disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method is to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia, and then to check to see how long they have been in place and, if possible, correct them. --Wafulz 19:45, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
