[edit] Your comments regarding Ghost Rider
To be clear, what you did was engage in speculation on a talk page, which is considered as treating wikipedia like a forum. You did not offer a suggestion for incorporation, nor indicate how such a comparison could be made. Instead you basically made a speculative observation, based in your personal feelings. That's not how Wikipedia works. If you wanted such an addition considered, propose it properly. To that end, I will be adding the welcome template to your page. It contains llots of useful policy and how-to links. ThuranX 03:06, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] 2007 UEFA Champions League Final
Please do not keep reverting the "Problems before the match" section. The text you keep reinserting is of poor quality since it contains weasel words ("most parties agree"). It also makes a contentious assertion ("UEFA has been roundly criticised") that is not reflected in the cite. Conversely, the text you replaced was both factually accurate and supported by the cite. If you have a problem with the way it is written then please bring it up on the talk page so that we can all discuss it and reach a consensus. Repeated reversions help no-one. Thanks. -- Hux 12:12, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] William Gaillard
Please beaware that you have now reverted this article 3 times, see the Wikipedia:Three-revert rule for more information.

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. regarding "due to the fact that he generally does nothing in the game" Michellecrisp 01:18, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
I'm sorry, I don't understand your question: are you going to allign the st and lb details. Could you explain, please? Florrie 00:39, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Torres
He joins when he signs the contract. Which doesn't automatically happen when the day changes. Mattythewhite 23:03, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
- How is that version better? Please tell me how. Please, I am confused. You're removing the height tempalte (vandalism and pointless, simply) and putting his final year at Atlético, which isn't even conformed yet. Mattythewhite 23:17, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Height/Weight
No, it isn't my 'mission' but judging by your recent edits (such as here, here and here) you do seem to be on a 'mission' to intentionally notate height/weight in imperial measures as the primary measurement even when the metric equivalents are already in place. If it hasn't already been pointed out to you, please refer to the Template notes for guidance. You may also like to register as a contributor on WP:RL if you intend to remain an active 'contributor' to rugby leage articles. Have a good day. Florrie 03:13, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Turning into quite the little vandal, are we?
Just in case you didn't know, it's not considered polite or helpful to blank pages entirely, or to delete lengthy and well-supported documents so you can stick your own short summaries in their places. Please also quit turning off links to other pages. WhatamIdoing 16:57, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. Your multiple edits changing the nature of links to death metal, Hitler's chant, and Russia for a chinese article, are all vandalism. All three have been reverted. Please stop doing this. If you no longer enjoy Wikipedia, get a new hobby. ThuranX 17:40, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Polite Behaviour
Don't do things like this. It only makes things worse, not better. WilyD 21:38, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- Even if something needs serious attention, a stack of "dispute" boxes like that is not a civil way to go about it. The page is somewhat undercited, but has the advantage of being by-and-large true. So "serious attention compared to what?" Why? Uncompelling prose? A little light on citations? Poor subject organisation? If there's something that needs attention attend to it, but the page isn't "broken" and dumping tags on it is only provocative, not productive. WilyD 21:48, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
I see that you've added your little summary to WilyD's talkpage. For the record I am England rugby league fans and Grant is Australian and Aussie rules fan. Neither of are American nor interested in American football so the accusation of POV viewpushing of American football over Aussie rules and rugby league (among others) is rather odd.
You made a rather nasty accusation of racism as well. Unfounded I might add. Nobody said that Indians don't speak English, I said that arguing that India is an English speaking country just like the USA is extremely dubious. The vast majority of Indians have Hindi or another Indian language as their first language, very few are native speakers of English.GordyB 22:10, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- I see that like me you are a member of the rugby league project. If you read Soprani's arguments closely you will see that rather merely arguing that football<>American football, he is in fact POV pushing that football=soccer. He also seems to have objections about the number of mentions that other sports get.GordyB 23:01, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
-
- I'm familiar with the issues - the short of it is that although it's easy to work out how the use of the word breaks down among native speakers, it's not clear how to do it among total speakers, because a) it's unclear how many people in China speak English, and b) it's unclear whether they say soccer or football (or whatever) for soccer. There's a tag page, use it. There's a policy on how we figure out what to include or not include, use that too. WilyD 01:09, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Template weight
Hi CorleoneSerpicoMontana,
I am trying to swap out {{weight}} for {{convert}} please don't revert the edits back to {{weight}}. If you don't want stone in {{convert}} than simply change the {{convert|100|lb|kg st|abbr=on}} or the {{convert|80|kg|lb st|abbr=on}} to {{convert|100|lb|kg|abbr=on}} or the {{convert|80|kg|lb|abbr=on}} by taking out the "st" part of the code. You can also use {{convert}} to convert st lb to (kg/lb). That way, stone pounds are first (for the Brits & Aussies) followed by the kilos/pounds (for elsewhere). Example {{convert|16|st|8|lb|abbr=on}}--> 16 st 8 lb (105 kg/232 lb). Thanks, MJCdetroit (talk) 03:39, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome to WikiProject rugby union
Hi, and welcome to the Rugby union WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to rugby union.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPRU Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, peer review, and a collaboration of the fortnight.
- We have a Fiji rugby task force that focus on Fiji related rugby union articles.
- Our requests page has extensive lists of requested articles.
- We've developed a variety of guidelines for article structure and content, template use, categorisation, and other issues that you may find useful.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Shudde talk 03:09, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Infobox Rugby Union biography
Is there a constructive reason you are changing the template title of the Infobox rugby league biography to Infobox Rugby Union biography? It's creating a 'template for deletion' message. •Florrie•leave a note• 05:23, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Guinness Premiership squad navboxes
Hi there, I notice you have been creating a bunch of Guinness Premiership squad navboxes. However, your creations are using a non-standard format. Could you please use {{Rugby union squad}} next time you create one? – PeeJay 13:50, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- Further to this point, you are also adding the club logo to these navboxes. Use of the club logo in this manner is against the Fair Use policy here at Wikipedia. Please remove them. – PeeJay 13:51, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- You'll look into it? Excuse me for saying it, but that sounds like a cop-out to me. The navboxes you have created need changing to the standard format used for national team squad navboxes as soon as possible, and you also need to remove the club logos. – PeeJay 22:44, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- You haven't addressed ANY of my concerns yet! You have continued to create your own standard for club squad navboxes, which creates inconsistency between club squad navboxes and national squad navboxes. Why could you not just have added the option for a coloured titlebar to the pre-existing squad template? – PeeJay 22:57, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- I never expressed a concern about adding players' positions to the box. My concern is regarding the major differences in style between national team and club team squad navboxes. The club squad navboxes you have created are much wider than the national squad navboxes, and are structured quite differently. Anyway, I believe you are skirting around the proper issue here, so when I get some time, I will be going round all of your navboxes, and converting them to use {{Rugby union squad}}. – PeeJay 23:12, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Please follow WikiProject Rugby union guidelines
Please would you start to follow WikiProject Rugby union guidelines instead of running roughshod all over them. We have a list of templates to use and these have been in use for a while now. [edit] to present
Hi - I just discovered a few weeks ago that the 2001–present format isn't recommended according to the MOS. See this section [1]. They say not to use 'present', and ...the form 1996– (with no date after the en-dash) should not be used, though it is preferred in infoboxes and other crowded templates or lists, with the caveat that they may need to be examined by editors more frequently to see if they need to be updated; it is helpful to other editors to add an HTML comment immediately after such constructions, giving the as-of date, e.g.: . Although, if we use the pcupdate tildes, we shouldn't need to add in an html comment. I've just been deleting the 'present' as I come across them in articles. Cheers, •Florrie•leave a note• 07:46, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
- It doesn't actually specify in the template style guide, but the sample shown uses -present. Where there's uncertainty with the template, I'd go with WP:MOS. •Florrie•leave a note• 05:51, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Llanelli Scarlets players
Which MOS are you actually referring to? External links don't actually bother me that much, so I'll let you have that one, but please don't de-link the units from the height and weight parameters in the infoboxes. By the way, don't be so condescending. I'm not an infant. – PeeJay 19:13, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Just because they're not linked on any of the pages you just pointed me to doesn't mean they shouldn't be linked. What if someone doesn't know what "lb" or "st" stand for? They'd be a bit stuck then, wouldn't they? Linking the units is a useful tool, and takes up about 6 bytes to do: not exactly a strain on the internet. – PeeJay 19:22, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 2008 First Team - St Helens RLFC
Please stop adding information which is NOT CONFIRMED BY THE CLUB. Please see the discussion page as to why Dean McGilvrey must not be included. The OFFICIAL St Helens RLFC website shows Dean to be a member of the RESERVE TEAM and as such he, along with several other RESERVE TEAM players "train" with the fist team from time to time - but not all the time.
OFFICIALLY Dean is NOT a member of the First Team and only when the Club itself confirm his position AND NUMBER should his name be included in the First Team Squad WiKi listing. Please do not abuse Wikipedia by placing incorrect, non-verifiable and misleading information in to articles. What you have done in that article is in breach of Wikipedia rules for the reasons stated in the St Helens RLFC Discussion tab.
If you are not happy with this then please raise the issue as a dispute using the proper channels. Without proper verification - which must, in this instance, be by the Club itself, his name (or anyone else's) must not be included. If you care to look at the Player Profile section of the St Helens RLFC official website you will see Dean's name in the Reserve Team Squad. Only the St Helens Club itself can issue squad numbers and make Reserve Team players part of the First Team. Now please let's stop this nonsense. Tobias-UK (talk) 10:45, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
