[edit] Request for edit summary
Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 0% for major edits and 0% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 2 minor edits in the article namespace.)
This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 20:31, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

If your interested you can check out the project at Wikipedia:WikiProject Gaelic Games, and if you have any questions about the project feel free to drop a line on the project talk page, or you can drop me a line directly. [edit] John J. O'Kelly
Hi Corkman,
congratulations on your excellent work on Irish politicians. I have been doing some work on that area myself (categorising, creating stubs for some missing members of the [[Oireachtas]), and have encounted a problem with the article you created on John J. O'Kelly -- it appears to contradict he info on the Oireachtas members database. I have flagged the article as disputed (sorry, that's the available template, but the word is a bit strong!) and I have explained the details on Talk:John J. O'Kelly.
What do you think? --BrownHairedGirl 08:12, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Irish sportspeople
I see you have been add several Irish sports-people article recently. Perhaps you can fill in some of the missing Millennium GAA Team without pages that are listed here: List of people on stamps of Ireland. Besides the Millennium GAA Team there are other sports-people listed there about whom I know nothing myself. Hope you can help. Cheers ww2censor 18:01, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi, CM, please consider adding {{gaelic-sport-stub}} for gaelic footballers, to assist us poor drudges in the {{stub}} department. It could lead to your articles being expanded more rapidly. Cheers V. Joe 18:20, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Use of fair use images
Going through your template contributions at [1], I found a large number of cases where images tagged with a fair use tag were used. Please understand that the use of fair use images outside of the main article namespace is proscibed by Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #9. I've removed all such violations where I've found them. If you have any questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. All the best, --Durin 18:03, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jellybeans
Here are some Jelly beans for you. I love jelly beans as they have sugar in them and most people love sugar. But on the other hand just receiving somthing from somone else just makes you happy and also just giving this to you makes me happy. I hope to spread the jelly beans all over Wikipedia, so here, you can have this lot. Please enjoy them. (I like the lime ones.)
Editors need a bit of a sugar high too.

[edit] New GAA articles and templates
Hi i've noticed you've created a good few new GAA articles and templates , Great Work! but if i could ask you too tag the articles with {{GaelicGamesProject}}, the templates with {{GaelicGamesProjectTemplate}} and not to create articles with nicknames in the title .
Thanks (Gnevin 17:11, 18 February 2007 (UTC))
[edit] Missorting in categories
Note that all characters in the sort key get used. Don't be creating articles with spaces at the beginnings of sort keys, except on those rare occasions when you want an article to sort at the top of the category because it is the primary article about that category (and not necessarily otherwise a member of the category, as in te case of the people categories). See one of those I fixed at Larry Murphy (hurler), for example. Gene Nygaard 02:04, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Michael Duignan
A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Michael Duignan, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Spyder_Monkey (Talk) 01:45, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] About all the player articles
I don't believe that each player needs a seperate article unless they have done something noteworthy. Especially since each article differs only by the name. This will only lead to people becoming confused. Consider merging each article into a single page regarding the entire team, as a simple list of players on a given team would suffice. The articles I'm refering to are; Jer Henchion,Dan Drew,John Buckley,Dan Looney,Dan Linehan,Dan Lane,Tom Toomey,Thady O'Connor,Pat Buckley,John Kelleher,Dan Sullivan,Denis Horgan,Michael Horgan, and the (at the time of this writing) 8 other players who haven't been written about yet. Arendedwinter 16:16, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- I would say they are all notable - not a fan of stub articles like and would prefer to see more meat on the bones but they have all played at the highest level of Gaelic games and I would say that that makes them notable - especially when we consider that all footballers who have played for any team in the English soccers leagues (Divisions 1 through to 4) gain automatic notability. Good work btw Corkman.--Vintagekits 00:57, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Kilkenny Hurling Team 1982.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Kilkenny Hurling Team 1982.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:15, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Kilkenny Hurling Team 1982.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Kilkenny Hurling Team 1982.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Nickey_Brennan.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Nickey_Brennan.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 19:09, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Hello! Adding content without citing a reliable source is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. This is especially important when dealing with biographies of living people, but applies to all Wikipedia articles. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add your original reference to the article. Thank you. Accurizer (talk) 13:04, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Duplicate images uploaded
Thanks for uploading Image:Kevin O'Higgins.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Ernest Blythe.jpg. The copy called Image:Ernest Blythe.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot (talk) 20:30, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 18:00, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Kathleen Lemass
A tag has been placed on Kathleen Lemass requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. ukexpat (talk) 17:33, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
