[edit] Archive 1

Archive 1 (May 2006 - Nov 2007)

It's been over a year since the first comment, and a few angry editors had their say. Feel free to check out the archived section of my talk page. Vandalism intact, as far as I remember -- unless other editors were kind enough to revert it for me. This is about the only place where I don't revert edits, for posterity and amusement's sake.

[edit] Tower Defense Genre

I don't know if this is right, but I would like to pardon the deletion of this page, as I cannot get my sources as my school has blocked some of them. If you could give me extended time to get these, I won't be back from after school and guitar lessons until 6:00 PM Eastern Standar. Ledgo (talk) 16:47, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

It's OK. I'm not an administrator, I just didn't see the article as notable and tagged it as such(the posting on your talk page was a template). Normally we do not post game strategies on Wikipedia, or descriptions of game types such as you have put, but I'd love to see it cleaned up to meet notability requirements. It also doesn't establish its own context (is this a game of WarCraft III, or Dungeons & Dragons?). Coreycubed (talk) 16:51, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] question

If I may ,how old are you?--DarkFierceDeityLink 18:40, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

21. You? Coreycubed (talk) 18:42, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

I'm 19 i was just wounder b/c you said i'll do it at lunch and i thought you were in high school. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DarkFierceDeityLink (talkcontribs) 18:47, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
No, I work full-time, but I have limited access to the site during the day (basically enough time to revert vandalism). For the record, I don't have anything against you and I was wrong about you from the beginning, and I'm sorry for that. You've done an excellent job patrolling for vandalism. My only suggestion is that you try to improve your writing skills; your posts make you seem a lot younger than you actually are. Coreycubed (talk) 18:52, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks and I'm sorry also ,but I have dyslexia I'm in college and all but I'm bad in writing and spelling and other stuff that have to do with english but thanks again and i hope you x-mas went great and happy new year.--DarkFierceDeityLink 18:57, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

The music thats on the official site for brawl, how can I download those into my iPOD/MP3/SD card?--DarkFierceDeityLink 17:14, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Looking closely at it, it seems that the music is embedded in SWF files on the site. Check the source code for each page, it should have the SWF file listed. Donkey Kong's, for example. You could use software, such as SWFRIP to extract the audio, and copy it to your device that way. A quick Google search doesn't show any site that has already done this. Coreycubed (talk) 17:47, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Thats for the link but my sister got half the songs I was looking for.--DarkFierceDeityLink 20:41, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Removal of hidden SSBS tags

Eh, it's sort of a fence issue. I understand why you want to remove them; you're right, it really wouldn't harm that much at the look of things at the moment. On the other hand, the reason we put them in the article in the first place was because dozens of random people kept trying to add those people into the article would properly reading Dojo or counting on rumor. They do seem to have stopped for the most part, but there's no guarantee it wouldn't happen again. Basically my take on it is that they should stay in, just to be safe. The Assist Trophy ones (Stafy, etc) could probably go, as normally we experience no more problems with people not reading Dojo well enough a week or two after those AT's show up, but the rest should stay. Arrowned (talk) 00:42, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Topic Split

Yeah, you wouldn't believe how hard I had to internally fight to not put a snarky comment or insult in that hidden tag after all that nonsense. Arrowned (talk) 04:46, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] about the site

Hey, so was I right about the site when I said I don't trust it b/c its a fan site? they kept telling me no its from corocoro so it's all true but they couldn't use it.--DarkFierceDeityLink 13:46, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, you were right. The site's source for its content was the Japanese magazine, CoroCoro (official site here). BrawlCentral claims to be accurate in translating the magazine's content, but their reporting doesn't include proper sources and they later retracted their "reveal" of Sheik when people who could actually read the magazine noted that it didn't say anything. If you could somehow find a way to source CoroCoro directly without using another site, I'm pretty sure it would be usable (CoroCoro is a reliable publication itself, I believe). Besides, they messed up info we already have (calling Ivysaur's attack "Seed machine cannon" when Dojo listed it weeks ago as the Pokémon attack, Bullet Seed. The game's out in a few weeks anyways, so it doesn't really matter. Coreycubed (talk) 13:58, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm not disagreeing here...but Seed Machine Cannon is a probably just the literal translation. -Sukecchi (talk) 02:27, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Of course it is. You got my point though, right? Coreycubed (talk) 14:16, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I don't understand why we can't just use the pictures and I ask nicely if we could look into this(meaning trying to find the pictures somewhere else.) But rules are rules.--DarkFierceDeityLink 14:53, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] deleting

I'd appreciate it if you didn't delete messages on the Brawl talk page, especially ones made in good faith that would potentially save everyone a headache... Yes, the delay sucks, but that's no reason to bar all mention of it from the talk page. Powerslave (talk|cont.) 21:50, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree, but it's already in the article, and people are still adding it. It's bad enough that we have Smash fanboys creaming themselves over every update, posting wildly in the article and talk page, but unless someone has something notable to say about it, I don't see what good posting in the talk page does. It's just going to encourage the noobs to start commenting "i kno it sux! im realy disappionted with nnitendo and sakirua" et al. I mean, you've seen how ineffective the hidden tags are in preventing anons from adding new characters; I removed some of those since they're really not making a difference. (That got reverted too.) At the end of the day, I still have to undo as many edits. Sorry for taking yours out though, but isn't it common knowledge by now? Coreycubed (talk) 22:17, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Roster

I know you told me not to out thing up on the discussion page about Brawl central so I have decided to show you 1st since you can explain things better then half the users here. They have http://brawlcentral.com/images/news/2008_01_25(2).jpg

http://brawlcentral.com/images/news/2008_01_25(1).jpg
I think this is the real deal (not what they are saying) but the 23 player Roster please check this out i'm only trying to help.--Lbrun12415 17:42, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
It's good enough for me, I'm sure I could track down enough sourcing and confirmation to prove that. But what relevancy does it have to the articles Brawl and (series)? Coreycubed (talk) 18:08, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
I was going to say we could replace it with http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/c/c9/Ssbbrawl3.jpg/300px-Ssbbrawl3.jpg. once we get a very good picture with just the starting one.
And once someone in 6 days unlocks every one we could use the full roster to replace, the starting roster?--Lbrun12415 18:33, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I see, as an image for the article. A picture of a magazine isn't a very good image to use in the article. I can use my video input card to take an in-game screenshot of the full roster once it's unlocked, if that's what you're looking for. I'm sure someone will beat me to it, though. Coreycubed (talk) 18:38, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes thats what I mean we could use a roster to replace the picture I have shown you.--Lbrun12415 18:39, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
I'll keep my eyes peeled over the next week or two. By the way, I've noticed you trying real hard to make positive edits and work on your grammar and spelling, and I just wanted to say good job! It's helping people a lot to work with you as an editor. As I said before, I made a mistake accusing you of vandalism. You're a ton of help :) Coreycubed (talk) 18:41, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Thank you, have a nice day.--Lbrun12415 18:44, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Is this one better(roster)

http://brawlcentral.com/images/news/2008_01_25(5).jpg .--Lbrun12415 05:15, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

It's a better image, but I don't see it being usable in the article. Like I said before, once there's a screenshot available of the full character roster with all characters unlocked, then we can see about adding that to the article. Coreycubed (talk) 21:48, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: March 9th

For Brawl right? No problem, I'll even give it to you now. But I won't be able to play it much. I start college on, the worst of all possible dates, March 10th. Great luck huh? Brawl gets pushed back to the 9th, my school's starting date gets pushed forward to the tenth. Ho boy...

Anyways, 6585-6232-8971-6566 if you want it, Gimme yurs and I'll add it tomorrow if you wanna play Strikers of something. DengardeComplaints 06:26, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hey man

Hey do you know how many player are in brawl and also has the game been released b/c it says Japan already has it but on the web it says Jan 31/2008.--Lbrun12415 18:42, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

and also may I have your friend code so maybe when we have time we could have a tournament and i may ask dengrade also.--Lbrun12415 18:45, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
The game is not released, but several people in Japan already have copies. Full, legit copies. So most of what you're seeing is real. 8386-5812-2521-7626 is my friend code for Wii. Coreycubed (talk) 18:54, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks mine is on my page, i never got your name sorry mine is Luca(Luke in american).--Lbrun12415 18:55, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] I found this

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/3b/Prophetrosterdd5.jpg (Please note that toon link in america will be called young link I'm trying to find the web site were I got it before my computer logged me out and wouldn't restore what I was looking at) Also is that good enough to replace the starter roster?--Lbrun12415 19:09, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

No, that roster is an obvious fake. We can't use it -- I've nominated it for deletion. Besides, it's clearly labeled a "prophet" roster. Coreycubed (talk) 19:22, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Robot series.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Robot series.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:47, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding Official Nintendo Magazine (UK)

Hi, about the Licence of the NOM, something I forgot to mention was that even the Nintendo of Europe's website lists them as Official (and advertises them). Just incase the matter arises in the future! I'm not sure about issues with the licence not being renewed (if you have any links about this, I'd be interested), but as I said in the discussion, I doubt a publisher would be able to get away with using the official tag, without Nintendo's approval (it could lead to bad publicity, if a magazine with the 'official' title wasn't under nintendo's controle).  Doktor  Wilhelm  08:40, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Wilhelm, thank you. I was getting my info from Wikipedia's article, which was inaccurate! I'm somewhat embarrassed, but at least it's been sorted out. Coreycubed (talk) 13:43, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

I've seen your edits on SSBB, and you always seem to be the voice of reason in an argument/edit war, so I thought you deserved this video game barnstar. This is my first time giving a barnstar, so I hope I did it right. You may add this template to your user page if you want.

[edit] Super Smash Bros. Melee

Cheers Corey. To make it easier, I'll strike the ones that I've already done. By any chance, did you play Super Smash Bros.? That would be nice because the valid point was made that the "Gameplay" section needs to emphasise changes from the predecessor, and I never played the original. Anyway, thanks. Ashnard Talk Contribs 10:15, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

I have indeed, it's also on my watchlist. I'll work on it as well. --Coreycubed (talk) 04:53, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
No worries. Let's just hope it reaches FA! Thanks. Ashnard Talk Contribs 17:02, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Question

From WikiProject Video games

Link I don't want to start fighting again but please GAMEFAQs, GAMESTOP, TOYSRUS. are not sources they seem to be I also thought they were sources until I went to SSBB (Super Smash Brother Brwal) page and they were all yelling at me for adding GAMEFAQs, GAMESTOP, TOYSRUS as sources.--Lbrun12415 20:09, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
