Hello Corey, welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian.
Here are some useful links in case you haven't already found them;
I noticed the comments RK was making to you at Talk:Documentary hypothesis. I haven't been following the debate, but hysterical and slanderous attack on scientists does seem a little uncalled for! Don't take it personally, RK is well known for this sort of thing.
Here is some useful advice I have seen given out by Cyan;
When comments are posted, the raw text appears without vocal inflections or body language; the lack of these nonverbal cues tends to make the raw text appear to be more terse/rude than the sender actually intended. This is stating the obvious, but people seem to forget it in the heat of the moment. So my word of warning is this: don't be surprised if someone makes comments to you that seem unnecessarily brusque; and try not to take it personally. It is a side-effect of the medium.
If you have any questions, see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. Angela 04:33, Sep 14, 2003 (UTC)
Thanks Angela. — Corey 06:10, 14 Sep 2003 (UTC)
Corey, I hope you are not disheartened by your experience on Wikipedia. Sometimes people bite the newbies. Sometimes you arrive her and get involved in an edit war. These can be scary and frustrating if you have something to contribute and you have not eased into being part of the community. Please do not run away from Wikipedia because of these unfortunate mistakes. We all make mistakes. There is a lot one can contribute here. If I see something heating up, I find it better to move on to another subject for a while. Often if you come back in a few weeks you'll find others have added new content and the dispute might just dissolve away. Some of us just take a few weeks off when we get really frustrated; but I think most volunteers do come back because Wikipedia is an interesting project to participate in, even if there is disagreement on some pages.
