Retarded Animal Babies
A blast from the past this; currently it's a protected title. You closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Retarded Animal Babies (back in October 2006, how time flies). Because I'd commented I was left a note to say that there's a new version at User:Hamsterdunce/sandbox. I have to say that the new version looks substantially similar to me and doesn't really address the references issue. Cheers, Angus McLellan (Talk) 21:19, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Requesting restoration of a page you voted to delete
Sir: I have rewritten the page on Retarded Animal Babies. My version meets all the requirements of Wikipedia. It includes reliable third-party citations and proper formatting and NPOV. Since there are now a number of Wikipedia articles that link to it, I feel that it should be remade.
The rewritten article is temporarily posted here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Hamsterdunce/sandbox
I have only a secondary relationship with the RAB creator. This is being done as a courtesy to him--we feel that he deserves a decent representation on Wikipedia. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Eric Barbour (talk) 20:59, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Vincent.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Vincent.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:41, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
requesting restoration: Retarded Animal Babies
I understand your objections. One problem is that, despite having more than 3 MILLION hits on Newgrounds, Mr. Lovelace has not actively pursued publicity elsewhere. Thus the lack of mainstream media references. He hasn't been saving all his press clipping (and there have been a few others--I just can't cite them for lack of information). Do you have suggestions for this problem? Thanks for any help you can give. 76.191.142.203 (talk) 04:42, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Closing of DRV on Corey Worthington
I strongly protest your early close of this DRV. The previous AfD was ongoing at the time of deletion. The ArbCom and BLP make it specifically clear that DRV is the method to use in such situations. Furthermore, the presence of "3 DRVs and 3 AFDs" is due to mainly to repeated out of process attempts to delete the article, not due to any clear consensus to have it deleted. At least one ArbCom member, FT2 has expressed disagreement with this speedy deletion making it clear that BLP:UNDEL was not intended for such uses. I strongly urge you to reconsider your close. JoshuaZ (talk) 16:23, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for your reasonableness in this matter. JoshuaZ (talk) 14:10, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Follow-up to Daniel Malakov AfD and DRV
Dear Coredesat:
As you will recall about two months ago you & I disagreed on the validity of a Daniel Malakov encyclopedia article on Wikipedia. Many WP:Notability and WP:BLP claims were made by yourself and other gentle administrators. Try as I could, there seemed way to convince you that the murder of Daniel Malakov was a significant event requiring a Wikipedia page. The page was deleted. No discussion on the merits was permitted, IMHO, by the "Administrator echelon."
In view of the above, I wish to direct your attention to a New York Times article as follows:
February 9, 2008
Man Accused of Killing Dentist Exchanged 91 Calls With Dentist’s Wife
By CHRISTINE HAUSER and DARYL KHAN
You are free to go to nytimes.com and read the article, but perhaps the salient details are as follows:
Those details about the killing of Dr. Malakov on Oct. 28, 2007, emerged Friday from an indictment and at a news conference held by police officials and prosecutors.
As the families of both Dr. Malakov and his estranged wife looked on, Dr. Borukhova, 34, was arraigned and pleaded not guilty on Friday to charges including first-degree murder and second-degree conspiracy in an emotion-filled hearing in State Supreme Court in Queens. Mr. Mallayev, 50, faces similar charges.
The defendants could each be sentenced to life in prison without parole. They were ordered held without bail until their next court date, Friday.
At the time you folks decided to ditch the article, this information was not available. Now that it is, and more information ostensibly is to come out as the NYPD and AG begin to make their case in court, I want to know whether you will reverse your position and support an article on Daniel Malakov, or alternatively "Murder of Daniel Malakov."
If not, what would you need to see to support such an article? If you demand a conviction, then I plan to hold you to your promise.

How do I find an archive of a page you deleted?
Hi, I started this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Comparison_of_US_au_pair_agencies by compiling a lot of information into a nice table. I would like to use my table somewhere else since I guess it is not appropriate on wikipedia. Can you please tell me how I can find a copy of this page. Thanks. User:bandrewfox —Preceding comment was added at 21:31, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
I have activated my wikipedia email, so you can go ahead and use it to send me the deleted copy of my table. I will not use it on wikipedia, but I will start collecting a list of pages (on my talk page) which are product comparisons. I still have no idea why so many people thought that the page I made was somehow bad or different than these others, but I won't make a fuss about it any more. -- bandrewfox Feb 22, 2008 13:46 PST —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bandrewfox (talk • contribs) 21:47, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Don't revert the whole thing!
Only one color was actually changed, and is noted in the template. The rest are new and necessary. I don't see any discussion for it, but if you don't like the new color, then change only that one. Potapych (talk) 17:45, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- Those colors are perfectly safe. See the notes, where the Typhoon color is the only one affected. When there's a whole page of these infoboxes, it will be better than the pink one. It doesn't look like most of these colors were discussed in the first place. For example, a Category 1 storm in Australia would usually be equivalent to a tropical storm in the Atlantic, but it was assigned the color for a US category 1. That does not make sense. I did not change the value for cat1, but created a new label Aus1, and assigned it to the value for a tropical storm. So the only template affected at this point is the one that I am working on. The small infobox has too much US bias, so I am putting together a different one. I need new colors/labels to accommodate some of the other international scales. Potapych (talk) 18:16, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- It really makes no sense to have a debate over something that affects nothing except something that is currently in the works. Both you and Titox reverted the edits before trying to understand any part of the issue. Obviously you can't work on anything with this project without someone asserting their ownership of it. I'm sorry I ever tried. Potapych (talk) 04:03, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, you and another editor are trying to freeze the project in a particular state. Other editors have added to that template before, and my edits had safely preserved everything that depended on the template, so you had no reason to revert them. The code is confusing (and illogical) because you will NOT allow anyone to address it. Here's the reason I know you didn't look at what you reverted - the colors I added were based on the ones used for the SSHS. There was no new scale because they all fit within the range of existing colors. When I was working on the template I ran out of existing colors, and realized everything outside of the US region was arbitrarily assigned. Anyway, I was doing this voluntarily, and I don't want to waste time on something this pointless.Potapych (talk) 05:39, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

The Beatnigs
Hi, I just noticed that you deleted The Beatnigs, Michael Franti's former band, with an album on Alternative Tentacles (which I see has been re-released from the back catalog as a classic). I'm not trying to convince you it's a slam-dunk case for notability (I think it meets criterion 6, via Franti, and I think a Peel Sessions ought also to demonstrate notability), but I'm if I'd had it on my watchlist I'd certainly have asked it go to AfD. Could I convince you to undelete and send to AfD? Best regards, Pete.Hurd (talk) 07:34, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

My request for bureaucratship
Dear Coredesat, thank you for taking part in my RfB. As you may know, it was not passed by bureaucrats.
I would, however, like to thank you for taking the time to voice your support, despite concerns cited by the opposition. Although RfA/B isn't really about a person, but more about the community, I was deeply touched and honoured by the outpouring of support and interest in the discussion. I can only hope that you don't feel your opinion was not considered enough - bureaucrats have to give everyone's thoughts weight.
I also hope that the results of this RfB lead to some change in the way we approach RfBs, and some thought about whether long-entrenched standards are a good thing in our growing and increasingly heterogenous community.
I was a little miserable after the results came out, so I'm going to spread the love via dancing hippos. As you do. :)
I remain eager to serve you as an administrator and as an editor. If at any point you see something problematic in my actions, please do not hesitate to call me out. ~ Riana ⁂ 13:41, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Agni in Vamei's article
I notice you removed the mention of Agni in Vamei's article. That is probably the best course of action for now, given that we don't have the IMD data, and the JTWC is unreliable/unofficial. Just to let you know, I emailed the IMD, and they said an online version of the best track would be available in two months (1877-2006), though they didn't say whether it would have a subscription or not. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 14:50, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Tropical Depression 11F
I noticed you recently removed content under 11F, stating that the extra information there was as it was extratropical. However, the information as "Depression 11F" was released under 20036.txt, the Tropical Disturbance Summary.[1] With this information, is it safe to say it wasn't completely extratropical yet? -- RattleMan 10:15, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
