[edit] Primary Interests in Editing

[edit] Subject Areas

I generally follow the rule, "Write what you know."

Otherwise, I've spent an inordinate amount of time trying to learn and understand the overall ideals of en.Wikipedia, the rules, and the technical stuff. If I see something amiss, I'll generally contribute or at least make a discussion comment that nobody will read.

[edit] Advice to Fraternity & Sorority Editors

  • Individual chapters are not notable
  • It's not really that important who's the oldest, biggest, or greatest. Odds are, no matter what organization you're in, half of the membership is comprised of idiots.
  • Don't be discouraged. Ever. This is, in fact, a reasonable way to spend your occasional spare time. When someone searches for your organization or anything related to your organization, en.Wikipedia is probably the first link to come up.

[edit] Background

This page in a nutshell: Professionally, I try to come up with collaborative technology solutions. Personally, I play around with collaborative technology solutions. Wikipedia suits me.

[edit] Professional

This user is an IT/Management Consultant.

Professionally, I'm a Business Technology Analyst working on enterprise IT solutions like SharePoint. Before that, I had experience with Confluence Wiki, eRoom, and the functional analysis of .NET applications.

WIKI This user has a wiki, which can be found here

I have developed and continue to contribute to my own wiki that focuses largely on Fraternity & Sorority Life at George Mason University. The information is too detailed for en.Wikipedia (individual chapters, notable members, silly things, etc.). I originally had a bunch of mirror pages and such but I don't care for reinventing the wheel. I hope to also eventually start putting together a guide for moving from old school chapter Web pages built with 1998 technology to stuff built with 2008 technology. I'm figuring that out as I go.

There exists a wiki for GMU (two, actually [1] [2], and I don't like either of them and I'm not sure which is the "official" one) and a Greekopedia. There's even a Phi Sig one but they're mostly very underdeveloped and totally full of spam.

I'm also teaching myself joomla administration/design/light development.

When not in front of a computer, I'm either making a poor attempt at learning guitar or other pretty standard social activities that very frequently involve Coors Light.
