From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
These are some quotes from the discussion page of the Allegations of Israeli Apartheid family of articles, compare and contrast with the arguments used in the current article. --Coroebus 20:53, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The article is about the phenomenon, not the phrase, so any vaguely related link should be included:
This article is about a phrase, it's not a soapbox for an argument. Please find sources promoting that phrase, not anything remotely related.

It's about the phrase Israeli apartheid, not about various arguments people use to vilify Israel. Please ensure the article is kept on subject, thanks.

[edit] Don't say it is used by right-wingers:
The article seems to focus on the fact that non-notables like student demonstrators use the term, but fails to note its prevalent use among neo-Nazis and anti-Semites such as David Duke and Jew Watch. I've rectified that. Let's make sure we give the reader the complete picture of the phrase's use.

[edit] There shouldn't be a focus on news or academic sources, bloggers use it:
Wikipedia really shouldn't have articles on POV pejorative political terms...

But there aren't very many reliable sources which use the term; there are many unreliable sources which use it, and some reliable sources which refer to unreliable sources using it, but not much about it in the peer-reviewed literature, and even then it's mostly from extremely biased sources (e.g. Israel Shahak, notorious anti-Zionist). From what I can tell, it's almost exclusively used as an epithet, and reliable sources never use the phrase. As for Tutu, his one off-the-cuff statement is neither here nor there; while he may know a lot about apartheid, he's mostly a figurehead, and is no sort of expert about Israel or the Palestinian situation.

5 [Web-of-Science] Articles, many from Palestinians or notorious anti-Zionists? That's not much, is it?
