In poetry, Muses are sometimes called corycians or corycides, as in Akenside's "Hymn to the Naiads":

The immortal Muse

To your calm habitations, to the cave

Corycian … will guide his footsteps.

I removed the above text, since it appears to be original research based on a faulty understanding of Akenside's wording. The "cave Corycian" is quite literally the Corycian Cave — the word "Corycian" is not being used as a noun at all, and certainly doesn't refer to the guiding Muse. --Quuxplusone 02:10, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
