[edit] Informal Tone

This article needs a cleanup because of it's informal tone. Articles shouldn't have an authors personal experiences on them unless it's a user page. Jay.S 16:54, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

I wrote this article in the hopes that someone would add information that I do not know and cannot find in any references. In particular, the mechanism of the sudden onset of the wind is totally unclear to me, although I surmise that it probably has something to do with updrafts in the desert during the heat of the day -- but I cannot find any relevent discussion whatsoever. Unfortunately, I also cannot find any sources to document the sudden onset other than my own experience and that of a local I talked to. As far as I am concerned, then, the information I have included is the best source available and includes no speculation or personal opinion whatsoever. I have gone back and forth with people who have deleted substantive information from this article without adding anything useful, and the current form is the first that has survived this sort of "improvement" that actually deletes useful content. If you think the article can be improved I suggest that you do so in a positive manner, which in my view would involve ADDING information. (Note: The Guide to Writing says: "Be careful about deleting material that may be factual.") Rtcutler 19:05, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
