Talk:Cornelia Sulla

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To my knowledge, there is only one source to the fact that Cornelia and Julius Caesar were first cousins: the first book of the Masters of Rome series of Colleen MacCullogh. Looking at the historical notes that the author makes in the end of the novel, we can see her explanation that the fact that Julilla (Sulla's first wife) being sister of Caesar's father is just an educated guess. She was a Julia for sure and its quite probable that she was from that family, but we simply dont know that for sure. So please people refrain from adding that to the article. muriel@pt 09:31, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)

"Masters of Rome" is a second hand reference. The book, and many like it use primary references as Plutarch's Selected Lives, Suetonius' Cesars and the surviving letters of Cicero. As far as I know there's no primary reference to their pre-marital relationship.
