[edit] Neuse River Indians

Is it true that Neuse is just another name for the Coree? From my (admittedly limited) understanding, the Neuse maybe have become amalgamated with the Coree and Turcarora after the Tuscarora War, but were their own, separate tribe before that, called variously Neusiok, Neus, Neuse, Newxes, etc. Can anyone shed light on this better? I'm skeptical of the simple and unexplained equating of "Neuse River Indians" with the Coree. Thanks! Pfly 06:36, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
