Talk:Cordial
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"In the United Kingdom and Australia, cordial...is said to have some medical properties for stomach problems". This is the first I've heard of this! Perhaps the author of this article might like to state where in Australia/U.K. such a belief is held; it is certainly not common in Western Australia where I'm from. One aspect of cordial folklore the author might also like to include is the belief that cordial - especially red - can cause hyperactivity in kids. This is a belief that is alive and well amongst Australian parenting circles, although I believe the theory has been disproven - some research may need to be done in order to include this. - Neenish_Tart 3:33, 29 January 2006 (AWST)
I agree, having lived in New South Wales (Eastern Australia) all my life I have never heard anyone proclaiming cordial to have health benefits, but I've certainly heard the rumours of hyperactivity. In fact, not only have I never heard of any health benefits, several more health conscious people have pointed out that giving kids an entirely artificial drink full of sugar is a health detriment Bungeh 04:53, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

I (in the UK) have never heard of either of these. I assume these are well-known in a particular country, but not worldwide. 217.155.116.125 12:58, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
