Cory Environmental

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cory Environmental is a large waste disposal company based in the United Kingdom. Cory operates in over 30 locations throughout the country, providing services in the collection, recycling and disposal of waste as well as municipal cleansing[1].

Cory has been operating for over 100 years and started out in 1896 as WM Cory and Son Ltd transporting coal into London on the River Thames.

Cory is one of the UK’s leading waste management companies. It owns nine landfill sites across the UK, and has contracts for recycling, street cleansing and waste collection stretching from Lincolnshire to Cornwall. It is best known for operating barges on the River Thames from central London out to the Mucking Marshes Landfill site. Around 15% of London’s waste is transferred by barge, removing 100,000 lorry movements per year from London’s roads. Cory has an excellent record of revenue and profit growth, is well invested and has a strong position in its markets[citation needed].
