Corwin Brown (born April 25, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois, USA) is the current defensive coordinator for the University of Notre Dame football team[1].

Brown is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he played defensive back. He was a two year starter, co-captain of the 1992 team, and All-Big 10 in 1992[2][3].

Brown had an eight year career in the NFL (1993-1996 with New England, 1997-1998 with the New York Jets, 1999-2000 with Detroit).

[edit] Coaching career

Brown has previously worked as a special teams coach under Al Groh at the University of Virginia and as a defensive backs coach for the New York Jets from 2004-2007. On January 19th, 2007, he was named the Defensive Coordinator for the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish, replacing Rick Minter. During the Irish's 2007 spring practices, it became clear that Brown and his defensive staff are implementing the 3-4 defense at Notre Dame.

Corwin received his nickname, "Cornflakes", from his University of Michigan teammates because of his free spirit[citation needed].
