Corton railway station

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Corton railway station was a station in Corton, Suffolk[1] on the line between Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. It closed in 1970 with the rest of the line, removing the direct link between these two towns.

For several years Corton had a static Camping coach in a siding. It was used as accommodation for holiday makers.

Corton is the only station building apart from Lowestoft Central remaining on the route of the line, it is currently in use as a private residence, the trackbed has been filled to platform level, and while the canopy is still in existance, it is looking very run down and forlorn.
