Corsham Town F.C. is a football club based in Corsham, Wiltshire, England who compete in the Western Football League. The manager of the club is Mel Gingell.
[edit] History
Corsham Town was founded in 1884 and played in the Wiltshire Football League for many years virtually trophy less until Gary Lock became manager and began the road to success winning the Addkey Senior Cup. It was short tenure which was followed by Peter Tripp who led the club to becoming champions for the first time in 1997-98 Alos winning the Addkey Senior Cup along with the Wilts senior Cup. After spending six years in Division One, they were promoted to the Premier Division in 2004 after finishing fifth. They finished runners up to Bideford in their first two seasons in the Western League's top division, and were crowned as champions for the 2006-2007 season, winning the division by two points from Bridgwater Town, this spelled the end for the current management team (Colin Bush, John Woods, John Bolland & Jon Lock) because they felt they had taken the club as far as they could and it was the correct time to step aside. Mel Gingell has now been placed in charge and the new season has started well with a continuation of good results following on from the successes of last year.
[edit] Cup exploits
Corsham Town has a relatively short history in the FA Cup and FA Vase. Thus far their best result was a 3rd round appearance in the 2006-07 Vase, in which they lost at Bideford 3-1. The club has also won the Wiltshire Senior Cup on several occasions, retaining it for the last three consecutive seasons (2004/05, 2005/06 and 2006/07), and also triumphed in the Les Phillips Cup in 2005/06, beating Willand Rovers with a last minute winner.
