Correntina is a town in Bahia state in Brazil.

The City of Correntina started to appear from the dispatchings of the ENTRADISTAS and BANDEIRANTES, Bartolomeu Bueno Da Silva, Belchior Days Moreira and Matias Cardoso de Almeida, that would have visited our City,respectively in 1700 the 1790. In 02 of March of 1938, through the Decree Federal Law of nº 311 signed by Getúlio Vargas, authorizeing that the States made the territorial divisions, it was that, for the State Decree of nº 10.724,signed for the Federal interventor Landulpho Alves, in 30 of March of 1938, the Village received the forum from City, under the baton of the Intendant Major Félix Joaquin de Araújo, however, they had only come to commemorate in 01 of January of 1939, considering the delay in the art of if communicating. Bathed for the Rivers "Correntina", "Arojado", "Saint Antonio", "Guará" and "Rio do meio", all of crystalline waters, being the main o River "Correntina", whose stream bed cuts the Center of the City, where it is the Island of the Ranchão, enchantments and magic, Postal Card of the City, sufficiently visited during all the year and mainly in the period of carnival. At a 1,200 meters of downtown the "Sete Ilhas"( "Seven Islands" )form the archipelago, of an incomparable beauty! The other rivers bathe almost all the Towns of the City, that make an impression for its hídricas and natural wealth, as: Waterfalls, Trails, Paredões, Mounts and Grottos. Visits Correntina, a true ecological paradise. The regional culinária is a tradition of its people, hospitable par excellence. Located in the Bahian West, the 500 km of Brasilia and the 980 km of Salvador.
