Corporal Popinjay

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Corporal Popinjay is a very minor character from Joseph Heller's classic novel Catch-22. His only appearance is in the eighth chapter of the book entitled Lieutenant Scheisskopf

During the trial of Clevinger he is the corporal present who takes shorthand in order to document the proceedings. Owing to being a tad too specific, he enrages the colonel and is eventually locked up to be taught a lesson.
