Coronel, Chile

Coronel is a city in Concepción Province of the Bío-Bío Región, in south-central Chile, located along the Arauco Gulf. It was founded in 1851 and its main industries are commerce (the port) and coal extracting. Coronel has a population of about 100,000 as of 2005.
The city became famous after the Battle of Coronel during the First World War.
