Cornelius Fuscus (?–87) was a prefect of the Roman imperial bodyguard, known as the Praetorian Guard, during the reign of emperor Domitian, from 81 until his death in 87. Prior to becoming prefect, Fuscus served under Titus Flavius Vespasianus during the civil war of 69, or the so called Year of the Four Emperors. For his loyalty to the Flavians, Fuscus was well rewarded during the reigns of Vespasian, Titus, and Domitian, the latter under whom he became Praetorian prefect in 81.
In 86 the Dacians, led by King Decebalus, invaded the Roman Empire at Moesia, a province located south of the Danube. In response, Domitian dispatched Cornelius Fuscus to the region with five legions, but the prefect suffered defeat when he was ambushed along with Legio V Alaudae at the First Battle of Tapae. The entire legion was annihilated, and Fuscus killed.
