The Cork-Limerick-Galway corridor[citation needed] basically consists of the area between the three cities of Cork, Limerick and Galway located on the western seaboard of Ireland with a total population of just over a million people and a population density of 51/km².[citation needed]
Cork is the capital city[citation needed] of the province of Munster while Limerick is second city of the province and Galway is the capital city[citation needed] of the province of Connacht.
The distance between each of the cities is 100km (60mi) the equivalent of a 1.5-hour car journey.[citation needed]

The main economic engines of the region are the Economy of Cork and the Economy of Limerick.

The Western Rail Corridor is currently being built linking Limerick to Galway.
The three cities are served by the Cork Suburban Rail, Limerick Suburban Rail and Galway Suburban Rail networks.
There are two international airports in the region: Shannon airport and Cork Airport.
The Shannon Free Zone is an industrial zone with over 150 companies employing over 7,500 people.
Cork is the home of Ireland's pharmaceutical industry with most of Ireland pharmaceutical companies located in the Little Island area.[citation needed]
