Corey "T-Rex" Sanders

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Corey Sanders should not be confused with Corrie Sanders, another heavyweight boxer with a similar name.

Corey Sanders (born March 7, 1975) is a professional boxer. Originally hailing from Washington, DC, Corey has largely been a fringe contender in the heavyweight division.

Known as "T-Rex", Sanders' most notable victory came in a shocking KO of respected Oleg Maskaev in 2002, which temporarily derailed Maskaev's plans of fighting for a title. Sanders has also dropped decisions to Andrew Golota and got knocked out by DaVarryl Williamson and Michael Grant (boxer). He temporarily retired after dropping a decision to Timo Hoffmann.

On October 20, 2006, Sanders competed in a televised exhibition with former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

On October 19, 2007, Sanders will make his return to the ring fighting Steffen Kretschmann in Germany on the Oliver McCall-Juan Carlos Gómez undercard.
