Reynolds was born in Richmond, Virginia and left in 1996 to pursue an acting career, eventually moving to California. Reynolds guest starred on Without a Trace and appeared in The Guardian prior to his role in The Closer. To research this role, Reynolds drew on his past work in security and law enforcement, prior to his acting career.

Reynolds has appeared in films such as The Terminal.
