Corey Antonio Moore (born March 20, 1979 in Eads, Tennessee) was an American football linebacker in the NFL after playing defensive end in college.

[edit] Pro career

Moore was drafted in the third round of the 2000 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. He was later released by the Bills before the Miami Dolphins signed him to a two year contract.

[edit] College Years

Moore played college football at Virginia Tech and played defensive end. In 1999, he won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and the Lombardi Award. Moore might have been an even bigger star than teammate Michael Vick during Virginia Tech's improbable rise during the 1999 season. Moore, who was named the 1998 and 1999 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, became the first BIG EAST player to win back-to-back defensive accolades. He set a league record with 17 sacks. In his senior season, Moore was the first unanimous BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year selection and was a unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team choice. Following the 1999 season, Moore became Virginia Tech's most honored football player ever. The senior defensive end earned the Bronko Nagurski Award as college football's defensive player of the year and won the Lombardi Award as the college football lineman of the year. He became just the second Tech player to gain unanimous All-America honors and was named the Football News' Defensive Player of the Year. Moore had 31 sacks during his final two college seasons. He is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.
