[edit] Career
Corey Burton began his voice career at age 17, in an imitation performance of voice actor Hans Conreid for Disney. He studied radio acting with the legendary Daws Butler (Time for Beany, Merrie Melodies, Yogi Bear) for several years, and went on to work with nearly all of the original Hollywood radio actors in classic-style radio dramas. He has also done numerous cartoon series for other networks, such as the Cartoon Network.
[edit] Disney
Burton has voiced sound-alikes and original characters for over 50 Disney Storyteller records. His roles include:
- Ludwig Von Drake in DuckTales, Raw Toonage, Bonkers, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Quack Pack, Mickey Mouse Works, Disney's House of Mouse
- Dale and Zipper in Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers
- Gruffi Gummi in Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears (following the death of Bill Scott).
- Mole in Atlantis: The Lost Empire
- Onus in Treasure Planet
- Captain Hook in Return to Never Land
- Dale, Yen Sid, Captain Hook, Sark, MCP, and the White Rabbit in the Kingdom Hearts series
In addition, Burton has done extensive voice work for Disney including, but not limited to, feature animations, theme parks, interactive sections of the company, and attractions at the Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and Tokyo Disney Resort. He also provides the "Feature Presentation" voice on numerous Disney videos.
[edit] Other Voice roles
- Brainiac in Superman: The Animated Series, Static Shock, Justice League, Legion of Super Heroes
- Count Dooku in Star Wars: Clone Wars
- Shockwave, Sunstreaker, Brawn and Spike Witwicky in the 1984-86 Transformers cartoon series by Sunbow
- Megatron, Ratchet, Ironhide, Cyrus "The Colossus" Rhodes, Spike Witwicky and Longarm Prime/Shockwave in the Transformers: Animated series.
- The Scarecrow, The Russian and Marshall in Batman: Gotham Knight

[edit] Paul Frees
Burton is perhaps best known for his imitation (or "voice matching") of the late Paul Frees as the Ghost Host in Disneyland's Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction, as well as providing the same voice for Walt Disney World's HalloWishes fireworks show during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party event. He was also approached to record a new safety spiel for the beginning of the ride. He agreed to do this under the condition that it was only an addition and did not replace any of Paul Frees' original dialogue. Since this was not the case, he declined and the spiel was instead recorded by voice actor Joe Leahy; petitions are now being drawn either to have Paul Frees reinstated or for Burton to re-record it. Burton also recited the classic line "Welcome, foolish mortals" in the opening of the film version of The Haunted Mansion. He performed another Frees imitation for the second volume of Stan Freberg Presents the United States of America.
[edit] Other Work
Burton has done work for the Universal Studios - Islands of Adventure theme park in Orlando, FL in addition to the Universal Studios Japan theme park.
In the Critters series he provided the voices for the Crites, but he was only credited for the first one, and he also developed their language as revealed on his website.
He is also known for his roles in the hit 1980s cartoons Transformers as Sunstreaker, Brawn, and Spike Witwicky; and in G.I. Joe as Tomax. He has also starred as the evil antagonist Kanawk for the cult 80's cartoon Robotix, as well as taking the roles of Goon and Tauron. Burton is the voice of the villainous Count Dooku in all Star Wars Expanded Universe media. He is also the voice of Trommel Guado and Maester Kelk Ronso in the PlayStation 2 video game Final Fantasy X. He voices Fantasia's Yen Sid, Tron's Sark and MCP and 4 other characters in the video game Kingdom Hearts II. He also voices Zeus in the video game God of War II for the Playstation 2.
Burton does voice-overs for many commercials and promos; for instance, Burton's voice is featured in the popular Old Navy commercials, which he inherited after the death of Bill Wendell. He recently provided his voice for the Final Fantasy XII TV promo.
[edit] Future
Burton may be considered as successor to Jack Wagner, who was nicknamed "The Voice of Disneyland." Burton continues to voice various characters on the Focus on the Family radio drama Adventures in Odyssey.
