Corazon Mizzi is the winner of Festival Ghanja tal-Poplu 2007, the top Maltese festival for songs written using the Maltese language. Corazon's winning song was "Hawn Jien" ("Here I Am"). The song describes the cry of an unborn baby to his insecure mother and her eventual response. This subject lights the fire to a topic at the center of Maltese debate, Malta being one of the few countries in which any form of abortion against the law. Corazon's unexpected win came as a surprise to most, since this is only her third participation in a local festival and is a relatively new face in the Maltese local scene.
