Coraniaid
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In Welsh mythology, the Coraniaid were a race of small creatures that came to Britain as a plague. The name appears to be related to the Welsh word corach (plural corachod) translated as ‘dwarf’ [1] and the adjective corachaidd translated as ‘stunted or dwarfish’ [2].
The Coraniaid could not be injured because the wind carried to their ears the details of every conversation spoken by the Brythons. They were finally destroyed by insects bruised in water. Lludd had received the insects from his brother Llefelys in France who had told Lludd to keep some of them to breed with just in case a similar affliction might come to Britain in the future.[3]
