CORE Music Foundation

CORE Music Foundation [1] began as C.O.R.E.(Chicago's Organization of Rap/Hip-Hop Entertainment), a network of united Rap and Hip-hop artists working together to obtain success in the music industry. C.O.R.E. was founded by Yakira James [2] [3] in 1995. In 1996, the network formed a student Chapter sponsored by Columbia College Chicago [4]. On January 21, 2005, CORE Music Foundation was incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in the State of Illinois [5].

CORE Music Foundation offers Music Business seminars/workshops to educate artist, and educational arts programming in music and literacy for Children, Youth, Adults and Seniors. CORE Music Foundation provides outlets for creative expression, social interaction, and entertainment.
