[edit] Bracket

I think the bracket that illustrates the second round/quarter finals/semis and finals looks good but it is sort of confusing describing the first and second leg results and the aggregate scores. Would it be a good idea to return to the old format or to have both brackets and tables (similar to the the World Cup article), or should it stay just like it is now? I personally like the bracket better, and a sentence before it explaining any confusing issues should be enough. The World Cup article also included stuff like goal scorers, referee, and attendance, which haven't been included here so far and would need tables or the footballbox template. It looks like a lot of work, but if someone has time to do it, it would be nice. Otherwise, the bracket alone (plus a preceding sentence) would do the job.--Gabbec 22:20, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
Also, the use of the square brackets should be consistent. It is mostly used as the aggregate score, but in the Sao Paulo-Estudiantes quarterfinal and the Libertad-UANL it is used for the penalty shootout score. Maybe it owuld be better to include both the 180' aggregate score and, if needed, the pso score in the same square brackets, separated by a comma or something. --Gabbec 22:29, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

I agree, both the aggregate score and the penalty shootout score with some kind of note should be displayed in the bracket. And about the tables I was talking about earlier I meant something like this (taken from the 2002 Copa Libertadores article):

Team #1   Agg.   Team #2   1st leg     2nd leg
São Caetano Flag of Brazil 3-1 Flag of Mexico Club América 2-0 1-1
Olimpia Flag of Paraguay 3-3
(5 - 4 pen)
Flag of Brazil Grêmio 3-2 0-1

which is not as detailed as the World Cup which includes scorers, attendance and so on but it is very easy to read and understand and will complement the brackets very well (in my opinion). Bruno18 04:24, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

I agree that it is easier to read, especially if you are looking for individual match scores, which certainly can be useful. I think that the bracket already has all the same information, but I have no problem with including both. --Gabbec 04:44, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Its too late now, but for next years cup it would be nice to include attendence and referee. Referee can be critical in some games, and attendence is a cool figure to have.Jamesinclair 03:04, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
